Learning from Local Experts: Cocoa and Chocolate Enterprises - Tastala and Paradai On July 15, 2024 The Department of Economics organised a study excursion for students enrolled in the course 'Economics of Small and Medium Enterprise Management' to visit cocoa and chocolate enterprises in Tha Sala and Muang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. The itinerary included: Khun Thawatcha i ' s cocoa and chocol ate enterprise in Tha Sala: Students learned from Khun Thawatchai, owner of a cocoa plantation and the chocolate brand 'Tastala'. He shared insights into growing his business and the process of cultivating and processing cocoa into various products such as cocoa nibs, cocoa powder, brewed cocoa, cocoa butter, and both dark and milk chocolate. Paradai chocolate café in Muang District: Students explored Paradai, renowned for its award-winning chocolates, including varieties like dark chocolate, jasmine-scented chocolate, milk chocolate, and bon bons. They also sampled chocolate beverages from the café. Paradai stands as a pioneering enterprise in Nakhon Si Thammarat, supporting local cocoa farmers by of fer i ng fa i r pr i ces for the i r product s .
