ง บทคัดย่อภาษาอังกฤษ Abstract Thesis Title : Legal Measures Regarding the Acquisition of Property by Buddhist Monks and Temples Student's Name : Miss SUPITCHAYA MOOSIKASIRI Advisory Committee : Assistant Professor Dr. Jidapa Pronying Degree and Program : Master of Laws in Laws Academic Year : 2023 This research study aims to: 1) study the acquisition of abbots’ properties as temple managers; 2) investigate the managerial administration of temples’ properties; and 3) examine the participation of communities in setting up the temple committee. It is a study of the concepts, theories, and laws of Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Japan. It was qualitative research using documentary studies and in-depth interviews, resulting in a problem analysis. The research findings showed that abbots, in their capacity as temple managers, acquired property as legal entities. As a result, the acquired properties belong to temples' rights, not monks. In addition, there are still some faults in terms of financial and property management since it does not follow the format of National Buddhism Office presented in Religious Property Management Manual B.E.2562, and the managerial administration of temples’ properties still lack of participation of communities in setting up the temple committee to monitor and balance the exercise of financial and property management power of the temple to guarantee transparency and reliability in encouraging public faith in Buddhism.
