Humans can accidentally Rickettsia infected (Accidental host) being bitten by animal vector. Objective : To investigate Rickettsia pathogen in arthropods vectors in Bangkaew District, Phatthalung Province include isolates the type of bloodsucking arthropods, strains of pathogens and Geo - mapping of risk areas for pathogenesis. Methods : Survey ticks and fleas from 23 pet dogs from 50 survey dogs and chiggers from 15 rodents. Total of 303 pools of ticks, fleas and chiggers were collected from Tambon Khok Sak, Tambon Tha Maduea and Tambon Na Pa Kho Bangkaew District, Phatthalung Province. The real - time PCR were using for detection of 17 - kDa gene of Rickettsia from bloodsucking arthropods. Results : The real - time PCR were using for detection of 17 - kDa gene of Rickettsia found that, Rickettsia in- fected 19% in ticks and 98% in flea. The DNA sequence analysis was performed to identify the strains and compared with the data in Genebanks were found 2 Rickettsia stain as R. asembonensis and Rickettsia sp. cf1and5 . The results of laboratory showed Moo 2, 3, 7, 10, 12 in Tambon Khok Sak, Moo 1, 6 in Tambon Tha Maduea and Moo 3, 5 in Tambon Na Pa Kho are the risk areas of Rickettsia infection. Conclusion : In this study show that, the transmission of Rickettsia disease to humans was found R. asembon- ensis could cause disease in humans. In contrast, Rickettsia sp.
