The main component of these apparatuses are lead powder and polymer material. It may be substituted by natural rubber mixed red lead oxide (Pb 3 O 4 ) which once increase the value of natural rubber. Objective: To study the X-ray shielding efficiency of natural rubber mixed red lead oxide. Methods: The mixing of red lead oxide into natural rubber as ratio of 0, 300, 400, and 500 phr was separated in 2 method. First red lead oxide premixed with HA latex then subjected to dry, other block rubber and red lead oxide was mixed on two roll mill. Then both mixed rubber was compounded with vulcanizing agent on two roll mill. Vulcanization time was determined by MDR. Vulcanized rubber was compression molding subse- quently X-ray shield properties was characterized. Results: while as the voltages of X-ray tube were 80, 90, 100, and 110 kV, natural rubber mixed red lead oxide increase shielded primary X-ray beam as red lead oxide content was increase. As well as the thickness of the rubber increase. Comparison of X-ray prevention at 110 kVp, Thyroid shield apparatus was 93.38% whereas natural rubber mixed red lead oxide was 93.66% respectively Conclusion: X-ray shielding properties of natural rubber mixed red lead oxide was comparable with Thyroid shield apparatus when red lead oxide content was 500 phr and the thickness was more than 2.08 mm. Keywords: Natural Rubber, Red Lead Oxide, X-Ray
