Objective: To design and examine the efficiency of safeguard for accident, concentration of total dust and sound level. Methods: The safeguards were fabricated using steel and galvanize sheet with the size of 130x45x160 cm. and thickness of 0.2 mm. They were made in a flip of L shape ( Γ ) and installed at the front and back of 3 saw machines. With respect of the efficacy of safeguard, the number of accident, concentration of total dust and sound level were investigated. TD was measured by NMAM 0500. Sound level was observed by using Sound Level Meter (RION, NL-21) and then draw a Noise Contour Map by Program Surfer V.11. Results: No the circular saw blade accident was observed in 2 months after installing the safeguard on 3 saw machines. Moreover, the efficiency of the front safeguard on 3 machines to reduce the concentration of TD were 28%, 33% and 31%, respectively, and at the rear machine were 17%, 37% and 32%, respectively. Regard- ing to sound level, It was shown that the average sound level at the front and back saw machine were 89.3 and 88 dB(A), respectively and the efficiency of safeguard of 10% in both side of machine. Conclusion: The galvanized safeguard for the saw machines in parawood processing plant can protect the bounce circular saw blade off, moreover, it can reduce the concentration of wood total dust and sound level with the efficiency of 30.6% and 10%, respectively.
