And also have an important part in the development of infrastructure transportation system including trade and investment.The number of tourists and income from tourism is increasing continuously. Objective : to examine the level of tourism impacts on ways of life and culture of households in Samui and factors affecting ways of life and culture of the local. Method : This study using 400 samples of household at the confidence level of 95%. Statistics for data analysis include percentage, weighted means of Likert scale for measuring the impact level on ways of life and culture, independent samples t-test, F-test (One-way Analysis of Variance). Results : The results indicated that the impacts of tourism on ways of life and culture in Samui island were in a high level in all aspects. And occupation, average income per month, type of tourism and tourism activity significantly at the level of 0.05. Conclusion : The results indicated that the impacts of tourism on ways of life and culture in Samui island that classified by economic and environmental Social and cultural aspects are at a high level in all aspects. That was found the impact of economic and environmental aspect tourism has the highest mean. Keywords : Tourism, ways of life บทนา อุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวเป็นอุตสาหกรรมที่สาคัญอย่างยิ่งในระบบเศรษฐกิจ สามารถทาให้มีรายได้เข้าประเทศ อันก่อให้เกิดการสร้างงาน สร้างอาชีพส่งผลให้ความเป็นอยู่ของประชาชนในประเทศดีขึ้นด้วย และยังมีส่วนสาคัญในการ พัฒนาระบบโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน ระบบคมนาคมขนส่ง รวมถึงการค้าและการลงทุน ซึ่งจานวนนักท่องเที่ยวและรายได้จาก การท่องเที่ยวมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง แม้ว่าอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวจะช่วยให้ประเทศมีรายได้ที่เพิ่มขึ้น แต่การ ท่องเที่ยวก็เป็นกิจกรรมที่ต้องใช้ทรัพยากรที่มีอยู่ ก็ย่อมส่งผลกระทบทั้งด้านบวกและด้านลบต่อพื้นที่ที่เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยว อาเภอเกาะสมุย จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานีเป็นพื้นที่หนึ่งที่มีความเจริญทางเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งเป็นผลมาจากการขยายตัวอย่างรวดเร็ว ของอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยว เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวขึ้นชื่อระดับโลกและเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวหลักที่สร้างรายได้และสร้าง ชื่อเสียงให้จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี เป็นที่นิยมของนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ในการเข้ามาท่องเที่ยว การลงทุน ภาคธุรกิจ ได้แก่ การสร้างโรงแรม รีสอร์ท ซึ่งส่งผลกระทบต่อวิถีชีวิตและวัฒนธรรมให้มีการเปลี่ยนแปลง รวมทั้งในด้าน เศรษฐกิจ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อม ดังนั้น ผู้วิจัยจึงสนใจศึกษาผลกระทบของการท่องเที่ยวที่ส่งผลต่อวิถีชีวิตและวัฒนธรรม ของครัวเรือนในเกาะสมุย จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี
