Abstract
In the present study, the pressure drop characteristics of water flowing through the small circular tube
with internal diameter of 8.25 mm and 1200 mm length are presented. The aim of this study is to investigate the
friction factor of water flowing through the copper tube and to compare results with the well-know correlations.
The experimental runs are carried out at controlled temperature of 22 to 40 °C and the Reynolds number ranging
from 2,000 to 16,000 which are covered the laminar flow and turbulent flow. The effect of relevant parameter on
the frictional pressure drop such as saturation pressure, and mass flux are examined and discussed in details.
Finally, the experimental frictional pressure drops are compared with the well-knows existing correlations and
found that the experiment data give good agreement with the existing correlation within the deviation of ±10 %.
