Abstract
This research aims to study the environmental impact of
shore protection
product. The products
synthesized from the combination of sawdust and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) by using Life Cycle
Assessment(LCA) consider the scope of research since acquisition of raw materials. Process manufacturing,
transportation, use and disposal by step through the calculations shown in the form of carbon dioxide equivalent.
The environmental impact were show that suppression of
shore protection
product weight 280.610 kg, which
consists of sawdust from rubber wood 95.550 kg, plastic High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) 177. 450 kg
and synthetic rubber weight 7.610 kg with the release of greenhouse gases 1,619.637 kgCO
2
– eq. Proceeds
from the disposition of waste affects the environment the most with the release of greenhouse gas was 844.833
kgCO
2
- eq and procedures used have no effect on the environment occurs. The results of the evaluation may be
useful in product design, improve production process to be more environmentally and to use resources
efficiently.
