Abstract
The aim of this study was to study the pre-feasibility of wind power in Hat Yai district, Songkla
province. The annual energy production using WAsP 9.0 analysis together with 0.225 MW, 0.3 MW, 0.5 MW,
and 0.75 MW wind turbine generators including an analysis of capacity factor were executed. Results showed that
the annual mean speed was at 80 m over target area was in the range of 6-7.3 m/s which could produce the energy
by 1.408 GWh/year, 2.102 GWh/year, 2.818 GWh/year and 4.337 GWh/year for 0.225 MW, 0.3 MW, 0.5 MW
and 0.75 MW wind turbine generators corresponding to the capacity factor of 23.7%, 26.6%, 21.4% and 21.9%
respectively. Wake loss was less than 1.3%.
