Specific activity of natural (

Th) radionuclides in 77soil samples collected from
5 districts
in Ranong province,
have been measured and analyzed. Experimental results were
obtained by using a high–purity germanium (HPGe) detector and gamma spectrometry analysis system
at Nuclear Physics laboratory in Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkhla
University, Hatyai Campus. It was found that specific activities ranged from 16.03 – 1480.56, 11.39 –
280.03 and 5.81 – 234.13Bq/kg with mean values of 442.30
