Abstract
This study is to analyze the atmospheric stability with 3 cases, i.e., stable, neutral, and
unstable in order to find the difference results in a wind flow modeling. Wind speed at height of 120 m
based on MERRA database in 1981-2014 along with computational fluids dynamics (CFD) are applied in
this study. SPP wind farm and annual energy production (AEP) of a 67.5 MW with 27 wind turbine
generators (Gamesa 2.5 MW) are simulated. Results show that wind speed is in the range of 5.51-5.53
m/s. For stable, neutral and unstable CFD wind flow modeling, the AEP is 234.8 GWh/year, 237.4
GWh/year, and 238.4 GWh/year with the capacity factor of 39.7%, 40.15, and 40.3% respectively.
