The rotating drum with capacity of 3 tons was pre-tested for use, the suitable number of round per
minute and duration of rotation were 1 ½ rpm and 7 hours. Three experimental levels of salt were used: 30, 40
and 45% of green hide, 7-hour salinity of hides was shown in Table 4. Although the salinity of 7-hour salted hide
used 30% salt was lowest among the three groups, but it could be comparable to that of 6-day salted hides in
cement tanks. The other words, this method accelerated salt saturation in hide.
