For the development of quality hide clusters, it is strongly recommended that the beef producer
cooperative should strengthen the linkages within the hide transaction chain with mutual aim and understandings
to upgrading the hide quality. The cooperatives should establish ways and means of profit sharing with the
farmers who improve the management on-farm for better hide quality. Hide grading of KPS beef needs to be
improved systematically as a standard. In scientific point of views, the urgent research needs are to invent
equipment or a method for field use to measure hide moisture as well as objective assessment of the degree of hide
damage due to salt tolerant bacteria.
