Abstract
The objectives of this research were to investigate effect of types of fertilizer application on yields,
chemical compositions and returned income of planting Whip grass
(Hemarthria compressa
). Treatments were:
no fertilizer application, applications of six ton/Rai/year of cattle manure, 60 kg of nitrogen ( N) urea/Rai/year
or, four ton of cattle manure plus 40 kg of N urea. It was found that an application of four ton of cattle manure
plus 40 kg of N urea resulted in maximum fresh weight yields (2967 kg/Rai/cutting) and dry matter yield (563
kg/Rai/cutting) with significantly different (P < 0.05) from others treatment. An average of dry matter, organic
matter, crude protein, ash, cell wall, lignocellulose and lignin contents of grass was 22.7, 92.4, 8.9, 4.4, 77.1,
