Abstract
This research is aim to 1) to study the discriminating factor of parents’ decision-making in sending their
children to learn in government and private secondary school in Songkhla province and 2) to create an equation of
the discriminating factor of parents’ decision-making in sending their children to learn in government and private
secondary school in Songkhla province. The sample consisted of 983 parent’s students in government schools and
private school. The research instrument was the parent’s decision-making in sending their children to learn in
government and private secondary school in Songkhla province. Then, the data from this tool was analyzed with
basic statistical analysis and classified with SPSS program for Window with stepwise method.
Finding were as follows : Parents’ Decision-Making in Sending Their Children to Learn in Government
and Private Secondary School in Songkhla Province consisted of 10 factors : 1) Building 2Student’s Activity
3)Environment 4)Career for Public/State Enterprises 5)Image 6) Academic 7)Income Below 10,000 baht
8)Education level lower than bachelor Degree 9)Personnel 10)Agriculturist. That all factors can be used to
discriminate the decision-making in sending their children to learn in government and private secondary school in
Songkhla province with statistical significance at .05. The best factor that can be used to discriminate the parents’
decisions is the factor of building and location. 2) the equation of the discrimination can be used to forecast the
decisions of parents in sending their children to government and private high schools in Songkhla province. In this
study, the result after data analysis with this equation was 78.80 percent. The canonical discriminant function
