Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the push-out bond strengths of fiber posts to root canal dentin
using various resin-based luting agents. Fifteen single-root premolars extracted for orthodontic reasons were
decoronated, endodontically treated, and post space prepared to a depth of 9 mm. The roots were divided into 3
groups according to the resin-based luting agents used; Variolink II, Panavia F 2.0, and RelyX Unicem. Fiber
posts were luted into the post spaces in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. After 24-hour storage,
each root was serially sliced into six 1-mm-thick slabs for the push-out bond strength test. The highest push-out
bond strength was obtained from the RelyX Unicem luting agent. The regional differences in bond strength were
presented for all groups except RelyX Unicem.
