Abstract
The scopes of this research were to investigate efficiency of anaerobic digestion system to treat
wastewater from air dried rubber sheet production process and to measurement biogas production rate of this
system. The results show that wastewater from air dried rubber sheet production process contains high organic
substance at pH about 4.6. Therefore, this wastewater was adjusted pH to be 7 before feeding to system in start-up
period. Two units system (The system consisted of 2 digestion tanks, each tank was operated at HRT 7.5 days,
total HRT was 15 days) provided higher wastewater treatment efficiency than one unit system (The system
consisted of 1 digestion tank, it was operated at HRT 15 days). The results shown that one unit system provided
average removal efficiencies of COD, BOD, TSS, TKN and TP about 58.86%, 56.47%, 45.88%, 31.74% and
29.44%, respectively. Two units system provided average removal efficiencies of COD, BOD, TSS, TKN and TP
about 61.71%, 57.65%, 51.76%, 33.03% and 31.78%, respectively. Biogas production rate of one unit system was
