Abstract
The research aims to study the general back ground of The “Kuan Go” Rubber Replanting Aid Fund
Cooperatives limited and the group participatory action process at Phattalung by using qualitative method design.
Data was conducted from related documents, in depth interview from 8 key informants(head of the group,
committee, and members) during accounting year 2003-2008
The research has shown that :
1. general back ground of the group that made the group can be successful were: community
relationship, own rubber plantations, the cooperative setting, production processing potential, member’s
participation, development vision, fairness of business among members, production processing and quality. In the
other hand, the obstacles were: knowledge and awareness of members, middle men, and lost of profit result in the
year 2008.
2. The group participatory action of the group in committee’s idea, they thought the lost of profit due to
they lack of cooperative system management knowledge, less experience in management and administration. In
the member’ idea, they thought they had some problems to collect monthly share and stock as the rules, some
members sold rubber latex to middle men instead of the group if they could get higher price, and annual meeting
didn’t success due to most members thought of stock dividend instead of understanding about cooperative’s
purpose and policy.
