Abstract
The research entitled “Current State and Problems of School-Based Curriculum Management in Basic
Educational Institutions under the Jurisprudence of Songkhla Education Service Area Office 1” was aimed at 1)
studying the current state of school-based curriculum management in basic educational institutions in Songkhla, 2)
determining the level of problems of school-based curriculum management in basic educational institutions in
Songkhla and 3) eliciting recommendations for further improvements of school-based curriculum and teaching in
the basic educational institutions in Songkhla. The sample for the study included 120 respondents comprising 35
directors (school administrators) and 85 tenured teachers. The instrument used in the study was a set of
questionnaire constructed by the researchers based on the concepts of school curriculum management. The
findings of the study reveal the following:
Overall and by individual aspects, the current state of school-based curriculum management in basic
educational institutions in Songkhla Education Service Office 1 is high. Additionally, the overall problems of
school-based curriculum management in basic educational institutions in Songkhla Education Service Office 1 are
moderate. By individual aspects, however, preparation and institutional curriculum construction are moderate,
whereas planning for curriculum implementation, curriculum implementation, directing, following-up, supervising
and evaluating are low.
