Abstract
The objective of this descriptive research was to examine the level of readiness of Subdistrict
Administrative Organization (SAO) in acceptance of the transferring primary care unit (PCU). Two hundred and
twenty two samples drawing from head of SAO, chairman of SAO council, and SAO head office who has been
working at SAO in Suratthani province. The questionnaire was developed by researcher framing based on related
literature. The alpha’s chronbach of the questionnaire was 0.94. The results showed that the level of readiness of
SAO on transferring PCU to SAO was at high level for the total score ( x = 3.16, SD = 0.74) and each dimension:
management ( x = 3.26), budget management ( x = 3.19), personnel management ( x = 3.08), and asset
management ( x = 3.08). Thirty six items (80%) were rated at high level nine items (20 %) were rated at low
level of readiness.
Although the readiness of SAO in acceptance the transferring PCU to SAO for the total score was at
high level, nine items were rated at low level of readiness. These need to be taken into serious considered for
readiness preparation.
