Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study opinions on cooperative education in Hatyai Univerity compared with the
assessment of cooperative education students’ working potential including the hindrances and difficulties in the
cooperative education subject. The survey was conducted on basic sampling research method for collecting data
and specified into three sampled groups which are the institution, cooperative education students, and coordinator
workplaces with totally 315 participants. The result of the study showed that 1) the teacher advisors’ opinions
toward cooperative education in overall and each component were founded at the high level in which the
appropriateness of study time according to cooperative education curriculum on the first semester was rated on the
highest rank. Next, the second was the responsibility of teacher advisors/visiting teachers, followed by a co-
ordinated approach to the cooperative education division. 2) The coordinator workplaces’ opinions mostly were
rated on the mid level. The highest average was the part of the coordinator workplaces about the care and
encouragement toward the students from the staff coordinators. The cooperative education curriculum in the
aspect of the collaboration in academic matter between the university and workplaces and the staff coordinators’
accountability were the second and the third respectively. 3) The opinions on the cooperative education from the
students/graduates in overview was on the high standard. Making the suggestion to cooperative education subject
from the teacher advisors stood at the peak. The coordinated workplaces were the second and the third was on
staff coordinators’ accountability. 4)The overall result compared with potential development from
students/graduates was classified by the status of respondents. those who took the cooperative education subject
was revealed definitely differently in significant statistic at .01. After consideration it showed that the themes on
the job achievement, the job competence and the job responsibility all were significantly diverse at the level of
.001 while the personal characteristic concern was seen at .05. 5) The teacher advisors’ opinions about hindrances
and difficulties in the cooperative education were that the students were lack of confidence whether they could
work effectively like the actual employees in the organization. Another opinions cited by staff advisors and
managers or personal department were mainly on the lack of details from the institutions concerning on the
cooperative education. The last stated by cooperative education students/graduates were the concern of working
without payment.
