Abstract
Effects of caponization produres on productive performances of native chickens were studied. Using
2x4 factorial with one control in CRD. There were two type of native chicken ; Red and Naked-Neck chicken and
method of caponization were surgical castration (SC), hormonal implantation (HI) and supplemented with 2% of
Pueraria mirifica
in powder (PM) and male (M) compared control group (female ; F) at 14-22 week of age were
studies. It was found that, during 0-4 week of experiment, HI group has significantly greater body weight gain and
better feed conversion ratio than did chickens iwith other tratmenttrea. However, no significantly different
(P>0.05) in any productive performances were found among treatment during 4-8 and 0-8 week of experiment. In
term of carcass quality,no significawe HI had significantly different) highepercentage of abdominal fat in chicken
with HI was significantly different (P<0.01) than those of other treatments.
