ISCUSSION
From Table 4-6, it can be seen that the concentration
of the produced hydrogen was lower compared to the
concentration of carbon monoxide in all the experiments
with steam and air injection. The H
2
/
CO ratio in the
synthesis gas varied from 0.5 to 0.8. Experimental results
showed that the operating temperature varied in the range
of 100-1,200
o
C. Using a steam injection, experimental
rice husk and glycerol were mixed with ratio of 3 kg :
500 ml, were separated into three different size ranges
:
5x3 cm, 5x5 cm and 5x7 cm was conducted under the
following assumptions and conditions; 4.4% moisture
content of rice husk and glycerol were mixed with ratio
of 3 kg : 500 ml, and a steam feedrate of 11.7 kg/hr.
Results of this study showed that biomass gasifier power
generation system consumed biomass fuel at around 50
kg/h or 5 kg/kWh. Gasifier can generate gas at around
74.3 m
3
/h. The gas compositions are composed of CO
2
approx 14-20%Vol., H
2
approx 3-17% as given in Fig.
15-17.The CO approx 3-26%Vol. as in Fig. 18-20. CH
4
approx 0.26-1.04%. The heating value of product gas was
in the range of 4.2-4.9 MJ/m
3
which was sufficient to be
combusted in the gas engine for power generation.
Gasifier efficiency was about 71-84% as given in Table
4-6 and as shown in Fig. 21-23. The optimum size of the
briquette was 3 cm. It showed that the composition of the
product gas, i.e., CO, CO
2
and H
2
is lower while using the
5 and 7 cm agreed with the previous work [12]. The
heating of the product gas using 5 and 7 cm as the
feedrate was also lower compared to the use of 3 cm
feedrate. Gasifire efficiency performed at the same
manner.
Experimental results show that the operating
temperature varied in the range of 100-1,200
o
C. Using an
air injection, mixed rice husk and glycerol with ratio of 3
kg : 500 ml, briquettes were cut into three different size
ranges
:
5x3 cm, 5x5 cm and 5x7 cm, the
experimentations were conducted under the following
assumptions and conditions; 4.4% moisture content of
mixed rice husk-glycerol, and a steam feedrate of 11.7
kg/hr. Results showed that biomass gasifier power
generation system consumed biomass fuel at around 50
kg/h or 5 kg/kWh. Gasifier can generate gas at around
74.3 m

/h. The gas compositions are the following: CO
2
approx 9-20%Vol., H
2
approx 1-18%Vol. as in Fig. 24-
26. The CO approx 1-22%Vol. as in Fig. 27-29. CH

approx 0.72-1.65%. The heating value of product gas was
in the range of 4.1-4.9 MJ/m
