radial transmission line and an existing
transmission line in the northern grid of
India. It is observed that real power
increases from lagging to leading power
factor. We also obtain that there are two
values of receiving end voltage E
R
for a
given P
R
except at P
R
max. The PV curve
is helpful in determining the knee point of
the stability curve. The values of S
R
can be
used to obtain Q
R
and the values of E
R
and
Q
R
can be used for plotting QV curve for a
radial transmission line. The QV curve is
helpful ingetting the limiting values of
reactive power for a particular value of
real power transfer.
We have used two
methods to draw the PV and QV curves.
The first one was through the derived
expression method and the second method
was through simulation with the help of
MATLAB.
Consequently
we
have
compared the values of maximum
transferable active power, critical voltage
and the limiting reactive power.
