Abstract
This research aimed to study the effects of the Science, Technology and Society approach on
achievement, problem solving ability and satisfaction with instruction of grade six students. The study
group are 43 student of grade six in the first semester of the 2015 academic year from
Chongraksatwittaya School, Pattani. They were instructed for 16 hours with the research instruments
that consist of lesson plans, learning achievement test, problem-solving ability test, the students’
satisfaction test and one group pretest-posttest design. The data were analyzed by mean, standard
deviation and t-test for dependent group. The study found that (1) the students’ achievement was
significantly higher on the post-test than pretest (p<.01). 2) The students’ achievement level average
on the posttest is satisfactory at a precentage 68.28, it is fairly good. (3) The students’ problem-solving
ability was significantly higher on the posttest than pretest (p<.01). (4) The students’ satisfaction with
effects of the Science, Technology and Society approach on achievement, problem solving overall is at
high level.
