Abstract
The study was conducted to investigate the response of enzymatic digestibility of dry matter
(IVDMD) and organic matter (IVOMD) of Pangola grass (
Digitaria eriantha
) to the increase levels of
sulfur fertilizer application in Hub Ka-Pong Soil Series. Treatments were arranged in RCBD with 4
replications, consisting of 3 sulfur levels (ammonium sulfate) (0, 12 and 24 kg sulfur/rai). Grass samples
were sampled bi-weekly to estimate the pepsin-cellulase digestibility. The results showed that quadratic
(p=0.0206 and p=0.0250, respectively) and linear (p=0.0046 and p=0.0037, respectively) response for
IVDMD and IVOMD to the increase levels of sulfur fertilizer application were observed in 2 and 8
weeks old of grass, respectively. No sulfur application plot had the highest IVDMD (64.28%) and
IVOMD (62.16%) at 4 weeks of regrowth. IVDMD and IVOMD value of 6 weeks of regrowth were
ranking from 52.96-55.84% and 54.47-54.99%, respectively. Sulfur fertilizer had less effect than
maturation on grass digestibility.
