Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the factors relating to the hotel selection of the Thai tourists who visited
Satoon Province in October, 2008 to January, 2009. The data were collected from 400 tourists via Accidental
Sampling Method. Percentage, 2 F and Cramer’s Contigency Coefficient were employed to test the hypotheses.
The findings can be summarized as follows. Most of the tourists were male, 21-31 year old and bachelor degree
graduates. The majority were local southern people, businessmen with monthly income less than 10,000 baht. It
was fond that tourist’s personnel characteristics, i.e., hometown, age, education level, occupation and average
monthly income, the hotel’s factors including information and reservation channel, and other factors such as the
number of accompanies, duration of stay and visiting objectives of the tourists were the factors relating to hotel
selection of the tourists.
