Abstract
This paper presents the simulation of air/steam rice husk gasification. The effect of temperature in
gasification process was investigated using the stationary model developed by S. A. Klien and F. L. Alvarado
1992-2001. Results showed that the composition of the product gas i.e. CO, CO
2
and H
2
was lower when the air
was used as agent. The LCV of the product gas using air as the agent was also lower companing to the use of
steam as agent. Energy conversion efficiency performed as the same manner. Using the air as the agent, CO was
7-15%Vol., CO
2
was 0-21%Vol., CH
4
was 1-5%Vol., and H
2
was 10-33%Vol. The LCV was is the range of 3,000-
8,700kJ/Nm
3
andtheconversionefficiencywas52-88%.Whileusingthesteamasagent,COwas8-16%Vol.,
