Abstract
The objectives of this study were 1) to investigate parents’ expectation of the quality of the PSU.
Wittayanusorn School before enrolling their children in the school in terms of its teaching and learning, teachers,
learner development, buildings and grounds, equipment, and parent-school relationship; 2) to explore parents
opinions on the school’s actual educational management after their children became students of the school; and 3)
to compare parents’ expectations with their opinions on the school’s educational management according to their
personal factors. In conducting this survey research, a questionnaire was employed to collect data from 328
subjects who were parents of the school’s students. The data were analyzed in frequency, percentage, mean, and
standard deviation. For a statistical hypothesis test, a t-test and one-way analysis of variance were carried out.
Opinions obtained from open-ended questions were also analyzed. The results of the study revealed that parents’
expectations and opinions on the actual quality of the school were at a high level when considered overall and by
item in terms of teaching and learning, teachers, learner development, and parent-school relationship. However,
their expectations and opinions on buildings and grounds, and equipment were at a moderate level. When
compared between parents’ expectations and their opinions according to their personal factors, it was found that
parents who were different in gender, age, occupation, relationship with the student, and the type of application
through which their child was admitted, did not have different expectations of the school quality. On the other
hand, parents who had different education qualifications and a child in a different class had different expectations
of the school quality.
