Abstract
Copper compound was synthesed using the 1:1:1 mol ratio of copper(II) chloride dihydrate
(CuCl
2
2H

O), 1,10-phenanthroline(phen) and phenylalanine(phe). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD)
confirmed the structure of [Cu

O. The compound was crystallized in monoclinic system,
space group C2/c, Z=8 with cell parameters a= 38.987(3), b=12.3778(9), c=29.748(2),
E
=97.961(2)°. The
complex has a trimeric structure. The structure component is in good agreement with the Fourier transform
infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectrum and thermal analysis (TGA and DTG). UV-Vis spectra indicated the d-d
transition at 629 nm and the bands below 300 nm are belonged to the charge-transfer bands.
