Abstract
This study intended to develop a Thai Typing on a Computer Subject in career work and technology
substance for Mattayomsuksa 2 student at Promkiripittayakom School. The curriculum was drafted through three
stages: 1) gathering initial data for curriculum planning, 2) designing and assessing a curriculum, and 3) using the
preliminary designed curriculum with the study samples and evaluating results. Thestudy samples of thestage3were16
Mattayomsuksa 2 student who were studying the subject during the academic year 2552 at Promkiripittayakom
School. The single group posttest only design was employed to study the preliminary designed curriculum. The
research instruments were the 80 hour of 7 learning unit plans, learning achievement test, practice skill
observation sheets, and learning satisfactory questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by means and
standard deviation for the population.
The results were: 1) The initial stage of curriculum development agreed with the result from the school
board members and parents/guardians that is students showed high interest in taking a class in Thai typing on a
Computer at a Mattayomsuksa 2 level. Moreover, They believed that the curriculum content, teaching is learn
activities, and evaluation were highly suitable. For the school readiness, the school administration committee
recognized the essential of the subject; therefore, the Thai Typing on a Computer subject was approved to
continue with the curriculum design, including provided supports with funding and instruments. 2) In the second
stage, the preliminary drafted curriculum was consisting of 9 components; i.e. significance of the curriculum
development principles, objectives, expected learning outcomes learning substances, course description learning
activities, teaching aids and resources, and assessment. The curriculum experts agreed that all internal
components of the course curriculum were interconnected at a high level. 3) For the preliminary drafted
curriculum trail and evaluation, the study revealed that students’ achievement after they learned through the
subject was higher than the expected criteria (70%). Moreover, students showed their learning satisfaction with
the Thai Typing on a Computer Subject at a high level.
