Abstract
The objectives of this research aimed to study needs of consumers and targeted group of Krachud
basketry in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Krachud basketry would be designed and developed according to the results.
Finally transfer design technology of product to communities participation. The instrument was the questionnaire
to investigate needs of consumers and targeted group in Krachud basketry product in Nakhon Si Thammarat to
find out styles and other need by random and data collection. After that, transfer design technology and create
prototype of product to communities participation. Result of this research sample populations were women located
in Nakhon Si Thammarat. They are think about design and development 3 group ; 1) material should be acquired
easily at the local banana plant fibre. 2) material should be design with synthetic such as rope. 3) material should
be pure Krachud basketry. The products those should be developed were vessels and parts of furniture. The
researcher made the prototype according to the results. For training, some of villagers were taught by
interviewing, talking to the representative and made the prototype together. The problem is villagers had to earn
for their living. Therefore they did not have too much time for training. Then the researcher found new informants
who are villagers at Ban Lam, Hua sai district, Nakhon Si Thammarat.
