The composition of these costs indicates that the
biomass feedstock and capital cost contributes 34 % and
29% respectively.
In economic analysis for investment in synfuel
production cost with capacity of 118,044.6 tons/a which
is using slurry from five fast pyrolysis of 605,667.58
tons/a. It is assumed that, the twenty years of project life,
working time at 7000 hours per year, personell cost per
year is 22.956 million THB, the interest rate of 5.875%,
excess electricity 292,950,000 kWh/a which is revenue
about 732,375,000 THB/a/year, the slurry price per ton
including transportation (from prior calculation) is
5,635.56 THB/ton, and maintenance cost per year is 4%
of the machines’ prices. The first investment is
1,905.757
million THB including the recycle plant and machines.
HHV slurry containing is 18.34 MJ/kg. Sale price of
synfuel is 43 THB/liter. Water consumption is 990,900
m
3
/year.
The approximated first investment and operating cost
of 500 MW gasification plant are shown in Table VII and
VIII.

A result from the analysis show that, payback period
of the production is approximately 1.5 years. The
production cost have to be compared with the price of
fossil fuel in Thailand which is about 36 THB/liter, which
is sale this price the payback period of production are
receive about 5 year. The composition of BtL production
costs of 500 MW gasification plant is shown in Fig. 2.

The composition of these costs indicates that the slurry
inclueding transportation and capital cost contributes 47
% and 27% respectively. The composition of BtL
production costs including fast pyrolysis pant and
gasification plant is shown in Fig. 3. From Fig. 3
indicates that the capital intensity about 32 % of the BtL
synfuel production network. Implying the capital
dependent costs from the slurry production, if was found
that there was the capital cost of slurry production
including stranportation about 15 %.

IV. C
ONCLUSION AND
D
ISCUSSION
This paper makes three contributions. First,
analyze
the amounts, chemical compositions, and location of
accruance of biogenic residues. Second, elaborate a
possible configuration for a BtL production in Thailand.
It provides the alternative bimass to liquid (BtL)
technology to utilize palm oil shell from palm oil mill
industry in Southern Thailand: for producing slurry from
fast pyrolysis plant and synfuel.from gasification plant.
Finally, the paper provides
economic assessment of the
possible BtL production chain
