Thaksin University has a policy for promoting and supporting a research publication. Research and
Development Institute Thaksin University (RDITSU) provides Thaksin Journal for researcher to present their
research. This journal has been published since 1997. There are many problems about applying and managing the
journal, and selecting and evaluating articles. In order to increase accessibility for the journal, RDITSU needs to
publish it on the internet and develop a system in order to coordinate and communicate between author and the
institute. In this paper, we present a proposed e-Journal management system. This system provides a data
collection and stores the publication in a database in order to increase efficiency of searching. It is also a center of
articless submission and evaluation for author to communicate with a journalss committee.
The system composes of four subsystems: a journal management subsystem, an article management
subsystem, a user management subsystem and an authorization subsystem. We used Unified Modeling Language
(UML) to specify, visualise, and document models of this prototype. For a preliminary evaluation, we used
questionnaires for examining validity and satisfaction. The way in which the system has been designed and
evaluated is discussed, along with its benefits.
