Abstract
This cross-sectional study was to identify demographic characteristics, risk factors and prevalence
stroke among diabetic patients in Phatthalung province. Totally, population of the study was 1,530
diabetic patients with stroke. Descriptive statistics were analyzed. Results revealed that half of them were
female (53.81%) and 60 years and above (79.65%). They had hypertension (91.67%) and present of
historical of diabetic among relatives (0.83%), overweight (45.75%), high blood sugar (26.08%), BMI equal
to 23 kg/m
2
and exceeded (72.55%), blood sugar exceeded 130 mg/dl (67.89%). They were glycemic
uncontrolled (HBA1
c
> mg/dl) (80.10%). In addition, there were high risk cholesterol (36.90%), triglyceride
(67.57%), LDL (50.19%) and HDL (66.93%). Results suggested that health personnel should intensively care
and surveillance among diabetic patients who had clinical risks in order to prevent complication of stroke
among diabetic patients.
