Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study rubber plantation owner’s demand for satisfied labor
characteristics in Tombon Samnak-Taeo, Amphoe Sadao, Songkhla province. This study also compared rubber
cultivated area owner’s attitude with personality of Thai labor and foreign labor. Moreover, this study inquired
about correlation of factors effect to employ Thai and foreign employee in terms of rubber plantation owner and
rubber plantation site. Data was collected to 100 rubber plantation owners during from June to October 2009.
Hard working and industrious person was the most important characteristic than honest individual. The results
showed that overseas workers were better than native workers as painstaking, patient being, responsibility, ardent
individual, advertent occupation, good attitude of employer and self-content working. However, native workers
were better than overseas workers because of experience working, skill working at the 95% confident level. The
results demonstrated that employment was related to an average annual household income of rubber plantation,
commitment working wage, employee turnover in three years and plainness or difficulty for new employee
seeking. Moreover, each rubber plantation area was interrelated to wage proportion at the 95% confident level.
Each rubber plantation area, nevertheless, was associated with category of rubber cultivated area and source of
labor at the 90% confident level.
