Abstract
The use of metakaolin (MK) and dried rubber seed shell aggregate (RSSA) in concrete was investigated.
Kaolin was prepared in firing at 750°C for 1 h used as mineral admixture which partially replaced into Portland
cement Type I in 10%, 20%, and 30% by weight. The water to cementitious materials ratio was maintained at 0.4
for all mixes
.
Pozzolanic properties of MK including of setting time, particle size, and bulk density were
determined. RSSA used as coarse aggregate was also determined in aggregate properties consisting of Los
Angeles abrasion, flakiness and elongation index, loose and dense densities. Tests of RSSA concrete specimens
