Abstract
Preparation and characterization of natural rubber composites filled with poly(vinyl chloride)
and zeolite (NR/PVC/Zeolite) using 2-rolls mill and compression molding at 150 ºC. The effect of
NR/PVC/Zeolite on the mechanical properties, curing time, contact angle and morphology
behavior
was
investigated. The tensile strength of composite is increased with adding the PVC for 2 phr and
rapidly decreased with increasing PVC content. At the same zeolite at 20 phr showed the low cure
time (tc
90
) and also the best mechanical properties compared. The contact angle was found that
increasing zeolite content, the contact angle is decreased. In addition, investigating surface morphology
using SEM, the SEM images showed that PVC particles were formed aggregate structure and dispersed
on both sides of the composite.
