Abstract
Dish washing sponges always have the residual food and moisture left; therefore, the contaminated
microorganisms can grow. The detection methods of foodborne pathogens are more difficult than the detection
methods of coliforms and
Escherichia coli
which are the enteric bacteria of warm-blooded animals and are used
as the indicator of fecal contamination in foods, water and beverages. The aims of this study were to enumerate
total microorganisms, MPN/g of coliforms and
E. coli
in 39 dish washing sponges from 13 cafeterias which were
evaluated 3 times at one month intervals at Thaksin University,Songkhla campus
.
The results from the first, second
