respectively. Due to the fact that there is not any definite criterion for microbiological quality standardization of
dish washing sponge ,comparison with the criteria of microbiological quality standard of ready-to-eat foods and
food utensils of Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health of Thailand is selected. In comparison
with the standard mentioned above,all samples included in this study showed more quantites of total
microorganisms, MPN/g of coliforms and
E.coli
, suggestive of the possibility that all dish washing sponges might
spread foodborne diseases to consumers.
