Abstract
The purpose of this research is to analyze quantity of K and Cl elements in brown rice and
white rice in each rice lineage taken from Phatthalung Rice Research Center by Energy Dispersive
X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (EDXRF). There are several analytical rice lineages existing in
Thailand both native lineages and economic lineages .In this research 11 rice lineages were selected
.All name of rice lineages are Lookdang -Phattanee , Kemthong Phatthalung , Labnok Phattanee ,
Sungyod Phatthalung , Homdokmali 105 , Nangpaya 132 , Homjun , Khaimodrin , Huana , Ganjun
and Chiang Phatthalung . In this study, we found that amount of K element content in brown rice
and white rice was significantly different by ratio as 2:1 , while the amount of Cl element content in
brown rice and white rice was adjacent . Besides it was found that, brown rice named Sungyod- Phat-
thalung and Hommali 105 lineages contained the maximum contents of K element as 26.4±0.09 wt%
and 2.63±0.02 wt% respectively while white rice named Kemthong Phatthalung and homdokmali
105 lineages contained the maximum contents of K element as 1.86±0.10 wt% and 1.32±0.19 wt%
respectively. In the case of Cl analysis the same two rice lineages of brown rice and white rice named
Kemthong Phatthalung and homdokmali 105 lineages contained the maximum contents of Cl content
similarly as content was 4270.084±102.574 ppm and 4150.502±175.179 ppm in these two lineages of
brown rice and in white rice was 4023.368±224 007 ppm and 3951.013±0.13±38.445 ppm respectively.
