Abstract
Lom Plaipattakat Lang (LPL) is one of symptoms in Thai Traditional Medicine associated with
palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fibers and referred pain. The annual services report from
Thai traditional clinic, Bangklamhospital, Songkhla province shows higher rates of patient including LPL.
The aims of this study to 1) evaluate the position (Sanyan) of LPL and to 2) determine factors affecting
LPL. The results of this study found that 12 (32.43%) of 37 patients with LPL were most often found
LPL with Sanyan 3 of the back. Factors affecting LPL were sex, age, occupation, working hours and
working posture. Women 2.3 % , patients aged 40- 0 years 4 . 4% , bureaucrat (46.00% , working
hours 8-9 hours/day (43.24% and sitting work for a long time (43.24% may be important factors
contributing to LPL. Therefore, it would be worth to further study on the development of prevention
and treatment program for patients with LPL.
