Step 7:
Ensure that all external resources are adequate for the research to be conducted:
This may
include support for the graduate student, research costs and so forth. External funding is the
usual means of funding graduate research activity, but it may not be enough, especially before a
reputation is created.
Step 8:
Staff supervision and graduate student writing:
Writing progressively through the research
period and using international benchmarks to guide the work is part of the supervisor’s role.
International benchmarking implies that all work is conducted in an international language
with appropriate translation into regional languages.
