Abstract
In Vitro
incubation study was carried out to determine crude fiber of Palm Kernel Meal (PKM)
with commercial enzyme Ronozyme VP. The Ronozyme VP enzyme was used in various level including
0 (control group), 0.15, 0.3, 0.6, 1.2 and 2.4 mg/g of PKM. The PKM samples were incubated with
Ronozyme VP enzyme at room temperature (30
o
C) and pH 5.0 for 24 hour. Crude fiber was analyzed
by Asbestos – Free Method. The results indicated that the increase in Ronozyme VP enzyme level
subsequently decreased crude fiber in PKM at a highly statistically significant (
P
< 0.01) as compared
with the control group with had crude fiber at 18.64 %. The lowest crude fiber was found in 2.4 mg /g
of PKM at 15.30 %.
