Phramaha Sompong Talaputto were studied. The study was classified into 2 parts: lecturing strategies and
language using strategies
There were 8 patterns of lecturing strategies used; which were: 1) story telling, such as experiences
from real situations and experiences from reading and listening; 2) audiences’ understanding, such as sequence
description and definition description; 3) audiences’ enjoyment, such as playing games and telling jokes; 4) poem
and saying use; 5) reward conferring to encourage audiences; 6) teaching multimedia use, such as songs, music
and movies; 7) non-verbal language expression, such as the use of body languages and paralanguages; and 8)
creating participations which consist of audience participations and other co-lecturers’ participation.
In the aspect of language use strategies, there were 5 categories of use, which were: English words,
slang, dialect, address terms and puns. When comparing the language using strategies with different groups of
audiences, the study found that there were both a similarity and a difference. The similarity was that almost every
language use strategy was used in the lecture, but some strategies were adapted to suit different groups of
audiences.
