Abstract
Antibiotic-producing bacteria are the group of interesting agents insteady of antimicrobial drug. For the
reason, lactic acid bacteria producing antibiotic substances were isolated from food. Three isolates from fermented
fish (Nham-Pla) showed antibacterial activity inhibited
Staphylococcus aureus Bacillus subtilis
and
Escherichia coli
,
by using well diffusion method. Moreover, engineered
-Lactobacillus plantarum
strain improvement by genetic
engineering was more antibacterial activity than wild type. It implied that the genetic engineering method can use for
lactic acid bacteria strain improvement increasing of their potentiate use as probiotic.
