Introduction
At the present, the number of the motorcycles in Thailand rapidly grow, leading to the number of
robberies are coherently increased, According to there is no the motorcycle anti-theft system, however,
many organizations such as the police, insurance companies attempt to reduce the number of vehicle
thefts, including many researchers are trying to find the best solution to prevent the vehicles stolen. Liu Z.
and his team [1] presented the vehicle anti-theft system using GPS and GSM technology, their solution can
be monitoring the car in real time via the internet system. In addition, they applied a RFID technology to
control the power switch of the module. According to Indian researcher, Bavya R. and Mohanamurali R. [2]
presented the high security and reliability to prevent the vehicle theft. They used an air gesture recognition
with the help of MEMS accelerometer. Also, they installed the GPS and GSM module to track the vehicle
at any time. They combined magnetometer and accelerometer to inform the vehicle position when the
GPS cannot detected. Furthermore, they applied the GPS fencing to limit the area of the car and they used
motion sensor to cut-off the fuel when the case of auto theft. In [3] Sreedevi and Nair proposed the
solution of the auto anti-theft using image processing. They have installed the camera on the car to
recognize the face of the driver. If the system able to remember the driver with comparison on database,
the driver will be accessed the car. Otherwise, alarm will be ring and electrical connections will not be
working. They also improved the face detection using DCT normalize and background cancellation
algorithm.
Although many researchers proposed the difference ways to solve the problem of car theft,
almost reports still present the device that installed on the car to prevent the criminal access to the
vehicles. These devices are quite expensive and it is not suitable to utilize on the motorcycle anymore.
Hence, we will propose the solution for motorcycle anti-theft system using a RFID for real time steal
detection. The couple passive tags have been installed on the motorcycles, the first one is bonded on
body and another one is hold with the key. When the vehicle installed the couple tags pass the reader. It
must be read both of tags and the data will be processed. The system will decide to alarm when reader
able to read only the tag on the body. To guarantee the quality of tags reading when they are installed on
the motorcycles, a series of evaluation indexes for RFID proposed by Liu W and his team [4] will be used
as the model in processing the best performance of data transmission between tags and reader.
This paper will be focused on the techniques to install the tags on the motorcycle, the position of
reader, the data processing and shown the experimental results of the system. The system had been
installed and operated at Prachinburi province, Thailand. The overview of the motorcycle anti-theft system
will be described in Research Method section. In Research Method section, the detail of tag’s and reader's
position will also be explained. Finally, the experimental result will be reported and the conclusion of this
paper will be expressed understandingly.
