Qualitative Research Method, Identity Concept, Power relationship-oriented Concept and Ideas of cultural
diversity. These study area is in Hat Yai, Songkhla.
The research found that Identity of the Chinese Thai People have many characteristics, flexible and
follow the relationship from Chinese Thai People and others in various areas. This identity was born through the
social, beliefs and ceremonies that based on the social context, the cultural context, context of trade, political
context or the context of living. As well as the initial of Chinese Thai People Identity have the
“multicharacteristics” type, There are the Identity that initial from the self definition, from the definition of the
various groups and the identity that is expected from society. Some time Chinese Thai People think that they are
"Chinese" or "Thai" or "Chinese Thai People", there are discrete about the impact and benefits will occur
altogether, then Chinese Thai People have been selected to conduct negotiations on the words and dialogue that
they are facing.
At the same time, the relationship of Chinese Thai People and other groups
among
social context, under
the relationship in daily life of Chinese Thai People to other people and social context are unique and vary in
relation to social relationships and social status in each period that are not only follow the conventional way of
determining compliance with the requirements of state or way of thinking, way of traditional beliefs and
popularity, The Chinese Thai People is trying to negotiate, the bargaining with the relationship to all groups that
included Chinese Thai People and others.
